Piano Lessons in the Comfort Of Your Home

What We Teach

We offer classes in many fields of music, including Piano, Music Theory, Composition, and Production. 

Piano 

Students follow the Certificate of Merit curriculum and study technique, theory, and performance in preparation for a yearly exam.

Music Composition

Students will learn to express their creativity through the medium of music composition.

Music Theory

Students thoroughly study the grammar and language of music. Ideal for students preparing for the AP Music Theory exam, or students requiring extra assistance in undergraduate theory courses.

Music Production

Students will learn to produce and record their own music using Logic Pro X or Ableton. 

About The Instructor

Jonathan Kretchmer is a pianist, composer, producer, and educator. He graduated with a B.M. in Classical Composition from the University of Redlands, where he earned Summa Cum Laude honors. Jonathan is a current graduate student at Columbia University, studying Music Education.

As a composer, Jonathan's works have been performed by a wide variety of ensembles, including opus21 and the University of Redlands Symphony Orchestra, who performed his Symphony No. 1. He has written music for solo piano, jazz combo, woodwind quartet, and pierrot lunaire ensemble. His style is influenced by the jazz of Bill Evans and John Coltrane, as well as the maximalist emotion of Dmitri Shostakovich and Maurice Ravel. 

As a pianist, Jonathan has performed works from a wide swath of composers, spanning the history of classical music, as well as jazz and musical theater. He is currently a faculty member and accompanist for the American Musical and Dramatic Academy.
